Speaking at the ceremony, Ms. Huynh Tieu Huong, Director and Founder of the Center, said: “Currently, the Center is caring for 347 children. Of these, 195 are orphans, and the rest are children from disadvantaged backgrounds, children with disabilities, hearing impairments, visual impairments, and homeless children. After 23 years of care and education, many of the children have grown up and started their own families. These couples have had 36 children, including 19 boys and 17 girls, and they often bring their children back to visit their old homes, where their parents once lived and studied…”

On this occasion, the Center donated 1,000 gifts, each worth 300,000 VND, and many meals for diligent students and families in difficult circumstances. Throughout its 23 years of formation and development, from its founding in 2001 to the present, with a spirit of spreading kindness and sharing with children and elderly people in difficult circumstances in society, the Center has donated 82,700 gifts, 1,910 scholarships, 19,145 wheelchairs, 481 walkers, 1,040 bicycles, and 200 canes for the blind…

On behalf of the Vietnam Red Cross Society, Mr. Vu Thanh Luu, Vice President of the Society, stated: “Initially, when the center was first established, it only cared for over 30 orphaned, disabled, and abandoned children. But now, after 23 years of operation and continuous development, the center has cared for 347 children, a significant number that has prompted the community to contribute and support the center. What is particularly commendable is that the children receive attentive care and education like any other child. Many have grown up, found jobs, and started families.”

The ceremony included a mass wedding celebration for 123 couples with disabilities. Wheelchairs carrying the brides, either pushed by the grooms or with the grooms sitting and the brides pushing, all dressed in elegant wedding attire, were brought onto the stage to the applause of the guests. Representatives of the couples expressed their gratitude to the Center and Director Huynh Tieu Huong for helping them have their weddings, a moment of lasting happiness with their loved ones.

After lunch, the convoy took the distinguished guests to visit Facility 2 in Dong Nai and Facility 3 in Ham Tan, Binh Thuan.
